At Couvaras Architects, we take the time to listen to our clients. You may not get what you expected, but you will get what you wanted!

Peter Couvaras grew up on a farm in South Africa, and commenced his studies at The University of Cape Town. After migrating to Australia during the bicentenary, he graduated from The University of NSW with first class Honours in 1992. His major thesis focused on the impact of sound systems on the acoustic design of contemporary auditoriums. Peter also has extensive business experience, having spent 10 years working in the not-for-profit sector, and 4 years as a retail small business owner. He is a Registered Architect who believes that an architect is a necessity, rather than a luxury.

Felix Antonius graduated in architecture from the University of New South Wales with first class honours in 2000. He joined the team after many years in a successful practice of his own.  Felix has experience in a broad range of project types including houses, apartments, nursing homes, places of worship, industrial, and retail. He has had extensive experience as a design architect and a project architect and has undertaken projects from design concepts and feasibility through to completion. Felix is a Registered Architect.

Chris Austin has a diploma in architectural drafting and an advanced diploma in sustainable building technology, and has been part of the team since 2010. Chris is trained in the latest Architectural software as well as the latest environmental assessment software. He previously worked in the construction industry for 7 years and has worked on high profile projects in the residential sector.

Chris Stringer joined Couvaras Architects in 2015. Chris has a Diploma in Architectural Technology and a Bachelor of Architectural Studies from the University of New South Wales. Chris is proficient with the latest Architectural software with an interest in visualisation and modeling.

Jeremy Curtain joined the team in 2019 and achieved registration with the NSW Architects registration board soon after. He holds a Masters of Architecture, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of New South Wales. Jeremy comes from a residential background and enjoys working across small and large scale projects and exploring the intersection of both programs. Combining a passion for sustainability with an appreciation of form, Jeremy enjoys the collaborative nature of our work and working closely with consultants and clients to reach the best outcome.

Callum Payne joined the team in 2022. He has a Bachelor of Architecture from UTS and is currently working on his Masters Degree. Callum juggles university and work and is a very capable and competent individual.
